Carlisle United midfielder Kyle Dempsey has extended his contract with the League Two strugglers until 2016.
The 19-year-old made his debut last January, and played a further three games as the Cumbrians were relegated.
This season he has cemented his place in the side under manager Keith Curle, scoring six times in 32 appearances.
The news is a boost to Carlisle with Dempsey's fellow academy graduate Brad Potts looking increasingly likely to leave when his deal expires in July.
Midfielder Potts, 21, was the subject of a bid from Championship side Blackpool in January.
"Blackpool bid for Brad again this week, this time on loan, with exactly the same finance on offer as before so of course we rejected that bid too," manager Keith Curle told BBC Radio Cumbria.
