Shrewsbury Town chief executive Matt Williams has said he wants to forge a stronger relationship with neighbours AFC Telford United.
Williams thinks both would benefit if the League Two side sent more young players on loan to the Conference team.
"We've got players who've gone out on loan to Southport or Tamworth," Williams told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"For me, if we can get the finances right, these players should be going to Telford, it makes sense."
This season, Shrewsbury have sent goalkeeper Callum Burton on loan to Nuneaton and Southport, young midfielders James Caton and Aaron Wildig to the Sandgrounders and Kidderminster respectively, while 19-year-old defender Dominic Smith is on loan with Tamworth.
He continued: "I'm not sure there's been an appetite on either side for various reasons in recent years but that's something we want to do.
"That's what professional teams do - you work with the teams around you."
