Goalkeeper Andy Rafferty endured a forgettable afternoon as Lincoln came from behind to beat Dover in the Vanarama Conference.
Ricky Modeste opened the scoring for Dover when he turned in Stefan Payne's cross with his knee.
However, two errors in quick succession by Rafferty handed victory to Lincoln.
First he fumbled Delano Sam-Yorke's cross into his own net and then failed to hold Alan Power's free-kick, which rolled over the line.
Lincoln City manager Chris Moyses told BBC Radio Lincolnshire:
"It was a tremendous battling performance on a tough pitch. All credit to the lads, we worked on a 4-4-2 all week and we've been good today, I'm really really pleased.
"Going a goal down was a test of the character the lads have got and they showed it. The coaching staff asked for the performance and they've given it.
"We were aware that their keeper had a weakness on crosses so that was part of what we talked about and it paid off."
