Bristol Rovers 1-2 Eastleigh

Richard Hill
Eastleigh boss Richard Hill saw his side end Bristol Rovers' 20-game unbeaten run in the Conference

Bristol Rovers' 20-game unbeaten league run was brought to an end by Eastleigh as the visitors secured a deserved victory at the Conference leaders.

Michael Green's free-kick crept into the net to give Eastleigh an early lead, before Jack Midson added a second from close range.

Matt Taylor pulled one back for Rovers from Lee Mansell's pass, but the hosts could not find an equaliser.

Rovers remain two points clear at the top despite the defeat.

Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke told BBC Radio Bristol:

"When you have the amount of players that we had today who just weren't on it, weren't playing well you don't win football matches

"The quicker we put this one to bed the better. I don't really like pushing things under the carpet, but like I say we had a lot of players off their game today.

"Eastleigh, let's give them a lot of credit, they punished us and could have won by more on the day.

"We were looking for answers, and getting ourselves in positions to create things, but the amount of misplaced passes and poor performances on the day, the first person I look in the mirror is myself, whether I made the right changes with the formation."
