Torquay United 0-1 AFC Telford United

Conference bottom club Telford secured only their third win since the middle of November as they won at Torquay.

Tony Gray pounced on a mistake by Levi Ives to sidefoot past Martin Rice for the game's only goal on 11 minutes.

Telford top scorer Gray had a second-half penalty saved by Rice after Sean Clancy was fouled by Aaron Dawson.

Telford keeper Freddy Hall kept his side in it with impressive late saves from Luke Young, Krystian Pearce and Louis Briscoe.

Telford ended a run of four straight defeats to cut the gap at the foot of the table to three points, but they are still 11 points adrift of safety, with 10 games left.

Torquay, in 15th, are now 19 points off the play-off places, but have games in hand on most of the teams around them.

AFC Telford United manager Steve Kittrick told BBC Radio Shropshire:

"The players are saying it is on again after this win. They had the right attitude coming into this game. We had a long conversation after Tuesday's game, they gave me feedback to put into the game plan and we applied it well.

"We put everything in place. We went 4-3-2-1 with the formation, that allowed Tony Gray to do what he does well and that's score. We wanted an early goal and we got that.

"It's game on again. People know my feelings over the last week so we have done a good job here. It's very pleasing."
