Bristol City 0-0 Gillingham

Bristol City saw their five-game winning run end in a stalemate with Gillingham as their lead at the top of League One was trimmed to 11 points.

This was the fifth meeting between the sides this season and they ended up cancelling each other out.

Bradley Dack went close to giving the Gills a first-half lead when he shot wide following a corner.

City created chances after the break but Aaron Wilbraham headed wide and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was denied late on.

Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill told BBC Radio Bristol:

"I thought that in the first half we were a better team than in the second half, which I felt was total domination to be honest.

"I thought that just at half-time we needed to pick up the pace of our passing and try to find some extra energy from somewhere.

"I thought that in the first half, it took us a little while to get going."

Gillingham boss Justin Edinburgh told BBC Radio Kent:

"It was an excellent team performance, I thought it was not about the individual today.

"It was a bit backs against the wall but you'd expect that coming to the league leaders.

"We knew what we'd have to come and do to achieve getting a result here and we did that."
