Oldham Athletic 1-3 Barnsley

Barnsley boss Lee Johnson made a winning return to his former club as the Tykes sealed three points against 10-man Oldham Athletic.

Lewin Nyatanga put Barnsley ahead from close range and Conor Hourihane made it two when the ball rebounded off him.

Mike Jones pulled one back for Oldham from 12 yards just before half-time, but the visitors put the game to bed.

Nyatanga scrambled home his second before Oldham captain Adam Lockwood was dismissed for a second yellow card.

Barnsley have now won their last six consecutive games, whilst Oldham have taken just one win from their last six, losing five.

Oldham caretaker manager Dean Holden told BBC Radio Manchester:

"It is what it is - the injury list is too big.

"There are too many injuries at the moment so we'll have an investigation looking at why, trying to fix it and same with the goals we're conceding at set pieces.

"There are problems there and we need to find a solution.

"We are playing ourselves out of games at the moment - that's the biggest problem."

Barnsley head coach Lee Johnson told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"It was fantastic to get the win but it wasn't easy being back here because it was very raw.

"It was a mixed reception but I understand, I still don't think people know the full story of me leaving.

"I don't think the game was that good, but we put in a professional performance, scored from two set pieces and it's good to get the win."
