Woking 1-0 Forest Green Rovers

Woking beat Forest Green Rovers to close the gap on their fellow play-off chasers to four points.

Rovers are fifth in the Conference, the final play-off spot, but have played a game more than Eastleigh and Woking, six and seventh respectively.

The visitors went close when Dale Bennett's half-volley hit the crossbar.

But Rovers had their unbeaten 12 league game run ended when Scott Rendell scored a penalty after Yemi Odubade was fouled by Charlie Clough.

Woking midfielder John Goddard told BBC Surrey:

"It's a big three points for us, we've been on a good run lately and today was a vital game for our season and it's pulled us back in the mix as the results have gone for us today.

"We've got seven cup finals now until the end of the season to get into the play-offs and today was a big step forward. We deserved the win today, we can't argue with that and even at the end when they had a few chances we played very well.

"We've shown today when we play as a team, and we have glimpses of quality and we do what we're good at, we can beat anyone in this league. We need to go again on Tuesday and continue this good run of form."

Forest Green Rovers manager Ady Pennock told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

"First looking at (the penalty decision) I didn't think there was anything in it, but the referee's given it so you have to move on.

"We've had a very good run, that was the 13th game (since the last defeat), I'm not normally superstitious but I am today.

"The players have put themselves in this position, so they have to keep pushing on for the last six games."
