Peterborough United 0-1 Coventry City

Blair Turgott
Blair Turgott beats Ben Alnwick to score his first goal for Coventry and earn his team three points at Peterborough.

Coventry continued their revival under Tony Mowbray after Blair Turgott's goal earned a surprise win at Peterborough.

Turgott seized on a 70th-minute rebound from Sanmi Odelusi's shot to lift City to their third successive away win.

Peterborough, who had won five of their previous six games, slipped out of the top six having never got going in a poor game dominated by the wind.

Michael Bostwick and Luke Williams were denied by City keeper Lee Burge in the second half as the Sky Blues held on.

Coventry boss Tony Mowbray told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire:

"I'm delighted with the result. It wasn't a spectacle of football, but we're in the situation where we have to win the game. Today we dug out a result.

"There will be better days regarding the football in the future, I'm sure. The wind was a factor undoubtedly.

"They know that we have to be better moving forwards, but we have to win some more matches, and if we have to do it like that then we'll take that, and then look at improving in the summer."
