Leyton Orient 3-1 Port Vale

David Mooney
David Mooney's penalty helped Leyton Orient overcome 10-man Port Vale.

Leyton Orient moved one point away from safety with victory over 10-man Port Vale at Matchroom Stadium.

Chris Birchall gave the visitors the lead but Vale had keeper Chris Neal sent off for a foul on Chris Dagnall.

David Mooney equalised from the penalty spot before Neill Collins' own goal extended Orient's lead.

Orient were awarded another penalty after a foul on Mooney but he was denied by Sam Johnson with Dean Cox's powerful shot sealing victory.

Leyton Orient striker David Mooney speaks to BBC London 94.9:

"It was a massive win, in the first 25 minutes of the first-half I thought we were excellent and we started the second-half really well and managed to get three really good goals in the second half, so long may that continue."

"I've played in a number of positions this season, I haven't really been able to get any fluency in my game. But today, on a personal level I thought I played well."
