Curtis Weston gave the visitors an early lead, slotting Mauro Vilhete's header past keeper Jason Mooney.
John Akinde came close to scoring with a long-range effort but it was brilliantly held by a diving Mooney.
But Wood coolly converted from the spot to secure a point after Andy Yiadom fouled Dan Bradley, leaving Barnet with a one-point lead at the top.
