Burton Albion 1-1 Stevenage

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has won 14 of his 22 games in charge at Burton

Burton missed the chance to restore their five-point lead at the top of League Two as they drew with Stevenage.

The visitors went ahead in the 12th minute when midfielder Tom Naylor found his own net in attempting to clear Simon Walton's header.

Another own goal brought Burton level as Bira Dembele turned John Mousinho's header past keeper Chris Day.

Phil Edwards hit the bar with a header for Burton, who are three points clear of Shrewsbury and Wycombe.

Burton manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink told BBC Radio Derby:

"I think in the second half we deserved more out of the game than just a point.

"If you look at the second half, it was all us. We had a few chances and looked like the team to score, but it wasn't meant to be.

"A point is not bad and we move on and we have got to be ready for the next one."

Stevenage boss Graham Westley told BBC Three Counties Radio:

"We got off to a very good start in the first half, we took our game to them.

"We could and maybe should have had more than just the one goal going into the 44th minute.

"After the break they came out and we had to weather a storm and dig deep. I think the boys showed a terrific amount of commitment to bring the point home in the end.

"It's about what you do in the two boxes. We weren't clinical enough in the first half, they weren't clinical enough in the second half. I think a draw is a fair result."
