Chester manager Steve Burr has signed a new contract with the Conference side until the end of the 2016-17 season.
The 55-year-old took over in January 2014 and, despite finishing in the relegation places, were saved from the drop after Hereford were expelled.
The Blues are 11th this term and reached the FA Cup second round, where they lost to League One side Barnsley.
"I am pleased with the progress we have made from last season," Burr told the club website.
"The club has got a fantastic supporter base, both home and away, and I firmly believe we have the potential to take Chester back into the Football League."
Burr's contract was due to expire after the 2016 season.
