Bury maintained their promotion challenge with a comfortable win at relegation-threatened Cambridge.
The U's came close to taking the lead in the opening moments through Ryan Donaldson's 30-yard shot which forced a tremendous save from Nick Pope.
But the Shakers went ahead through captain Nathan Cameron, who drilled the ball low across goalkeeper Chris Dunn.
Tom Soares doubled Bury's advantage early in the second half when he drove a finish beyond Dunn.
Bury cut the gap to the automatic promotion places to just four points with their fifth straight away win.
Cambridge have won just one of their last 17 games in all competitions and occupy 19th place, just five points above the drop zone.
Bury manager David Flitcroft told BBC Radio Manchester:
"I think technically supreme, tactically outstanding.
"When the time got to it to be physical and to dominate people, that's what we did.
"For all the four corners that you look at, emotionally we were supercharged, technically outstanding in every department - whether it was passing, movement, fluidity, it was outstanding.
"When I look at all the four corners, we got it right today."
