Nuneaton Town have signed West Ham United's teenage striker Jaanai Gordon on loan until the end of the season.

Gordon, 19, who signed for the Hammers from Peterborough United 14 months ago, has already had one loan spell away from Upton Park this season, with Conference South side Chelmsford City,

But he has now come in to bolster Boro's late bid to beat the drop.

Liam Daish's side are unbeaten in seven games after Tuesday's 2-0 win at home to Kevin Wilkin's Wrexham.

They have climbed a place to 21st in the Conference table, five points adrift of safety, with six games left.

Jaanai Gordon's footballing background
Jaanai Gordon made four first-team appearances for Peterborough United before joining West Ham United in January 2014. He scored five times in 10 games in his two months on loan after joining Chelmsford City in December.

Gordon is scheduled to make his debut at home to Halifax Town at Liberty Way on Saturday when Boro will again have Reading keeper Daniel Lincoln in goal, covering for Sam Crocombe, who is away on international duty with New Zealand.

Nuneaton have not conceded a goal in six matches - a run lasting more than 10 hours of football.

The last goal they conceded was a 31st-minute penalty on 14 February at Gateshead, where they came from behind to win, kicking off their seven-match unbeaten run.
