Marseille 2-3 Paris St-Germain

Paris St-Germain celebrate
Paris St-Germain, seeking a third successive Ligue 1 title, have a one-point lead at the top of the standings

Paris St-Germain came from behind to return to the top of Ligue 1 after a gripping win over Marseille.

Andre-Pierre Gignac's header put Marseille ahead, but after PSG levelled through Blaise Matuidi, Gignac struck again to take the lead at the break.

Marquinhos then latched on to a Zlatan Ibrahimovic free-kick to equalise early in the second half.

And PSG took control when Jeremy Morel, under pressure from Ibrahimovic, put into his own net two minutes later.

Champions PSG, chasing four trophies at home and in Europe, are one point above Lyon, who had gone top on Saturday after a 3-1 victory over Guingamp.

Third-placed Marseille are five points behind PSG with seven games remaining.

The only blot on the night for PSG coach Laurent Blanc was an injury to ex-Chelsea defender David Luiz, who limped off just after Gignac had opened the scoring by rising to head home Dimitri Payet's cross.

PSG wasted no time in equalising and Matuidi made it 1-1 with a curling shot from just inside the box that Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda could only get a fingertip to.

Ibrahimovic, set to face a disciplinary commission on 9 Aprilexternal-link for a recent outburst saying France "did not deserve PSG", made his decisive contribution early in the second half after a quiet first 45 minutes.

Despite slipping, the 33-year-old's free-kick had enough force to fall kindly for defender Marquinhos to equalise from close range.

The Swede was close to reaching a low cross from the left when Morel diverted the ball past Mandanda for what turned out to be the winner.
