Kidderminster Harriers: Boss 'did all he could' to keep Josh Gowling

Kidderminster Harriers boss Gary Whild says he was left disappointed by the departure of player-coach Josh Gowling to Conference rivals Grimsby Town.
The 31-year-old made 117 appearances for Harriers since 2012 but joined the Mariners on loan deadline day.
"We were aware there was a situation with Josh that had been instigated," Whild told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"He is club captain and he is one of my staff so of course I am disappointed that he has left the club."
Gowling's surprise exit was sealed last week after he signed a short-team loan deal with the Mariners until the end of the season.

Despite making four youth-loan signings for the final four games of the Conference season, Gowling remained in Whild's plans at Aggborough.
"From the club's point of view we did whatever we could to keep him," Whild added.
"We tried to get him a deal sorted out to keep him but Josh decided to explore options elsewhere and that's his prerogative."
After financial issues caused staff to go unpaid, Whild hopes there will be a return to stability at the club after a turbulent few months off the pitch.
"The board have had some preliminary talks and hopefully we can wipe the slate clean and move on so we know where we stand," he said.
