Match ends, Scunthorpe United 2, Crawley Town 1.
Paddy Madden's strike helped Scunthorpe United overcome fellow strugglers Crawley Town as both attempt to avoid relegation from League One.
Ryan Dickson accidentally deflected Jordan Clarke's shot past his own keeper to gift Scunthorpe an early lead.
Madden's second-half close-range strike looked to have put the visitors out of sight.
Izale McLeod's scored a consolation as his side slipped to 20th in the table.
Scunthorpe United manager Mark Robins speaks to BBC Radio Humberside:
"It was massive, a must-win game. We bossed the game without there being too much quality.
"We lose the clean sheet, that's got to be a disappointment, something we've go to be better at. This moment in time we have got to be happy that we have these three points in the bag and two wins does it [makes them safe]. We have five cup finals.
"We are not getting ahead of ourselves. There are two parts to the job, we've still got to make sure we complete part one."
Crawley Town boss Dean Saunders told BBC Surrey:
"We didn't do enough today and we didn't defend very well at all. There were too many things going on that don't normally go on defensively.
"Losing Richard Wood in midweek has taken its toll. I had to put in a completely different back four and we didn't defend like we normally do.
"We just didn't look our normal selves. It's disappointing because it was a big game and if we had won this game, we could've put ourselves in a [better] position and been clear before the last two games.
"Now it's going down to the last two games. We need to turn up Tuesday [against Walsall]."
