Portsmouth: Ryan Taylor & Nyron Nosworthy want Fratton Park stay

Portsmouth pair Ryan Taylor and Nyron Nosworthy say they want to be at the club next season.

Forward Taylor, 26, is out of contract in the summer while defender Nosworthy, 34, is on loan from Blackpool.

Asked after their 2-1 win over Plymouth if he hoped for a new contract, Taylor told BBC Radio Solent: "Definitely.

"You only have to look at the result and the fans were loving it, 16,000 fans. It's unknown in League Two, why would I want to play anywhere else?"

Taylor signed from Bristol City in January 2014 and has scored 10 times in 39 appearances this season.

And the former Rotherham player is aware how important the next five games could be for him.

"It's a big five games for us all," he said. "There are a lot of players out of contract in the summer so we can't rest on our laurels.

"I'll keep working hard on the training ground and maybe I'll get a new contract."

Nosworthy has played three times since arriving on loan in March and has been impressed by what he has seen at Fratton Park.

"Portsmouth is a good club, it's a sleeping big club," the former Gillingham, Sunderland and Watford player said.

"At the moment they're trying to start from the grass roots and get things better.

"I want to enjoy my football - it's a short career - and, unfortunately, I'm coming to the end of mine. As long as I feel fit and healthy I want to continue to enjoy it and Portsmouth would be a nice place to do that."
