AFC St Austell manager Phil Lafferty says his side deserved to retain the Cornwall Senior Cup.
Lafferty's team ran out 3-0 winners over Godolphin Atlantic in the final to keep the trophy they
"I think the best teams over the years, particularly of my generation, always retained things and won back-to-back trophies and leagues," he said.
"We stifled them really well and ran out very deserved winners," Lafferty added to BBC Radio Cornwall.
Neil Slateford, Jared Sims and Liam Eddy were on target for St Austell, who
"The Vase was a distraction that wasn't always helping us, so to turn our attentions to this and deliver the performance that was worthy of winning it and retaining it was very special for us," Lafferty added.
