Southampton captain Jose Fonte admits his failure in front of goal this season has been playing on his mind.
Fonte, 31, has not scored this season and was last found the net against Hull City on 11 February 2014.
And the Portugal defender says he hopes to end his drought before the end of the season.
"It's something that has been bothering me to be honest and possibly I've been putting too much pressure on myself," Fonte told BBC Radio Solent.
In contrast to his failure in front of goal, Fonte says he takes just as much pride from Southampton's defensive record, which is currently the best in the Premier League,
"I need to stay cool, the most important thing for me is having the best defensive record in the league, keeping clean sheets makes me as happy as scoring goals," he added.
"Obviously I want to finish the season being on the score sheet because everyone is giving me a bad time in the dressing room."
Fonte, who is set to make his 200th league appearance when Southampton take on Hull at the weekend, also says that, as well as the target of achieving European football this term, the squad are also setting mini targets for themselves.
"We are ambitious, we want to beat the record (best Premier League finish), we want to be better than last season," he said.
"We want to have more points than ever and more wins than before so that's something we want to make sure we are able to do it."
