Swindon Town 3-3 Walsall

Ben Gladwin
Ben Gladwin joined Swindon from Marlow in November 2013

Swindon's Ben Gladwin scored two penalties as they came from behind to draw against Walsall - but their hopes of automatic promotion are nearly over.

Town goalkeeper Wes Foderingham allowed Kieron Morris's shot to slip through his fingers to put the Saddlers ahead.

Jordy Hiwula made it 2-0 with a neat finish but Gladwin's two spot-kicks in nine minutes pulled Swindon level.

Romaine Sawyers restored Walsall's lead from a Ben Purkiss cross but Jordan Turnbull headed another equaliser.

Swindon are guaranteed a League One play-off place but trail second-placed Preston by nine points with three games remaining while Johnstone's Paint Trophy finalists Walsall are safe in 14th place.

Walsall manager Dean Smith told BBC West Midlands:

"I thought it was a fantastic game of football, spoiled by a couple of decisions.

"I get told that I make too many excuses at times, but I'll let people have a look at it themselves and judge certainly the first penalty.

"The second one could be a penalty - the lad goes down rather too easily for me.

"But it's one of those things you end up laughing about, unfortunately."
