Guernsey FC boss Tony Vance says he is 'proud' of his players after they fought out a 0-0 draw at Ramsgate.

Guernsey need one win from their final two games to secure a top 10 finish in Isthmian League Division One South.

"I'm proud of them lads tonight, we've literally thrown a group together and they've battled hard for one another," Vance told BBC Radio Guernsey.

"It's not the purest performance we'll give, but sometimes you have to dig in a have to fight and we did that."

Guernsey were indebted to Polish goalkeeper Jakub Machlowski who made a number of fine saves to keep his first clean sheet in his fourth outing for the Green Lions.

"I thought he was outstanding tonight and he had to ensure an awful lot of crosses, but he dealt with it very well," Vance added.

"He's not the biggest goalkeeper but I thought his handling was outstanding and he deserved his clean sheet."
