Newport County defender Ismail Yakubu and midfielder Max Porter will miss the rest of the season through injury.
Yakubu, 30, suffered a hamstring tear while Porter, 27, picked up a foot injury in Tuesday's 2-0 League Two defeat at Southend.
Newport's play-off chances would be all-but over if they lose at Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday.
"We need to win the three (remaining games) I think," said manager Jimmy Dack.
"We're not a big squad anyway so we've got to pull together and try to work harder as a group."
Newport are two places and three points off the play-off places with three matches to go.
If County lose and seventh-placed Plymouth win at Carlisle, the Pilgrims' superior points difference would make them unassailable to the Welsh club.
Despite the set injury setback midfield trio Lee Minshull, Michael Flynn and Jan Klukowski are back in training and will be in contention to face Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday.
Newport's play-off hopes were dealt a blow following Tuesday's 2-0 defeat at Southend United.
