Bradford City 1-0 Barnsley

Bradford City
Saturday's win, courtesy of Jon Stead's goal, was Bradford's first since 3 April

Jon Stead scored as Bradford City ended a run of five matches without a win by beating Barnsley on an emotional day at the League One club.

There was a minute's silence before kick-off to remember the 56 people who died in a fire at Valley Parade 30 years ago.

Stead got the winner early on when he volleyed in from Billy Knott's cross.

Barnsley created few chances, Mason Holgate firing into the side netting with their best effort.

Bradford City
FA chairman Greg Dyke and England manager Roy Hodgson were in attendance and laid a wreath at the memorial outside the ground - the 30th anniversary of the disaster is on 11 May
