Match ends, Bury 2, AFC Wimbledon 0.
Bury kept their hopes of automatic promotion from League Two alive after they took all three points against AFC Wimbledon at Gigg Lane.
Tom Soares nodded home Chris Hussey's corner to put the hosts into the lead just after the half hour mark.
The Dons replied as Sean Rigg's long distance drive forced Bury keeper Nick Pope into an impressive low save.
Soares caught the visitors again after the break when he set up Ryan Lowe to score and seal a vital win.
Bury go into their final game of the season against relegated Tranmere Rovers needing to win and hope that third-placed Southend United lose at Morecambe.
Bury manager David Flitcroft told BBC Radio Manchester:
"I think we started just a little bit hesitant but when we got into the game and got into our stride, rhythm and our patterns of play - then I thought the lads were outstanding.
"In the first 15 minutes, Pope kept us in the game with two fantastic saves. We fully deserved the win."
AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley told BBC London 94.9:
"The thing that disappoints me the most is that when we went 2-0 down, we fought up until then, we were really at it, brought two subs on and tried to throw some energy into the team - at 2-0 down it became a training match.
"That's not Wimbledon, that's not me and there wasn't enough hurt and enough drive to get us back in, because if we had got one, I think we would have got back into the game.
"I hate losing, I hate the fact these fans have travelled all this way to come and watch a game against a team at the top and gone home disappointed, despite seeing that we have the makings of some good players."
