Manchester City's David Silva has not suffered a broken cheekbone after being injured in the 2-0 win over West Ham.

The midfielder was caught in the face by Cheikhou Kouyate's right elbow and appeared to be given oxygen before being taken off on a stretcher.

Hospital tests showed no fracture and the 29-year-old will now be closely monitored, the club confirmed.

The Spain international could be fit for Saturday's Premier League game with FA Cup finalists Aston Villa.

"All the tests have gone well and I'm already home," Silva tweeted.
