Sunderland worked socks off - Advocaat

Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat is delighted after his side "worked their socks off" to put in a "real team performance" and claim a 2-1 win over Southampton at the Stadium of Light.

Two Jordi Gomez penalties sealed the win for the Black Cats, with Sadio Mane netting for Southampton, who had James Ward-Prowse sent off.

Gomez became the first Sunderland player to score two spot kicks in a Premier League game, with the win keeping Advocaat's side in touching distance of the four teams ahead of them in the league.
