Newcastle have superb potential, just not at the moment...The only way they can stay up is for a player to step up and assume leadership for the next matches, all of which are winnable.
@491He's wanted out ever since he bought in. Anyway, he'll have to stand in line. Bill Kenwright wants out of Everton (or so he claims), Randy Lerner wants out of Aston Villa, and Jeremy Peace wants out of West Brom. If I was personally in the market to buy a PL club I would consider all of those clubs much better buys. Having a large stadium does not automatically make a club a good investment.

@488Buying a cat won't help the Newcastle team - they already have a squad full of pussies not willing to play. Ask any Magpies fan. Maybe Ashley should buy a goat?

In the summer after Newcastle relegated Mike Ashley relocates the entire team to the Morbihan area of the south coast of Brittany in France. According to Ashley most of the team are French and the players were getting homesick. The team will now play all their home games at Stade du Moustoir in a ground share arrangement with local club FC Lorient. The club will now be known as Les Toon Lorient.
Mike Ashley didn't attend the Magpies' last game of the season at St. James' Park so was unavailable for comment regarding their relegation from the PL - he was reportedly seen in Glasgow watching a Rangers U21 game at the time. Mike later announced that in the summer he intended to change the name of the Sports Direct Arena to Ibrox Stadium so as to align it with his future plans for the club.
When asked if all his players were on board with his tactics and fully understood their roles & responsibilities, John claimed that sometimes his players looked at him as if he was talking Double Dutch. "I've got Tim Krul to talk to each member of the team to ensure that each and every one of them fully understands what I want them to do, and the dressing room sometimes gets very, very animated."
JC is clearly out of his footballing and managerial depth ... this was always going to be the case yet Ashley was happy with this cost-cutting arrangement.Ashley might have stabilised the finances but is clearly the root cause of footballing failures - as long as the fans keep buying the shirts eh, Mike?
The other 5 goals conceded were all own goals, but John vehemently denies claims his team have been playing with their flip-flops on since January. "What wereally need is 11 Jack Colbacks in the team. Unfortunately I could only sign 6 JCs, but having 4 of them see red in the same game didn't help the situation. Players shouldn't be tackling spectators in the stands or anyone else off the pitch."
In post match comments John Carver rated Newcastle's performances in their last 3 matches as a -20 (on a scale of 1 to 10). He claimed he'd had a few choice words with his players during the last month or so but it didn't seem to be working. "We've conceded 17 goals in 3 games,12 of them from set pieces. 8 were from our corners at t'other end, and 4 were from our kick-offs. This isn't acceptable."
