French Ligue 1

Marseille 2-1 Monaco

Romain Alessandrini
Alessandrini finished a Dimitri Payet cross with three minutes to go after Andre Ayew equalised

Marseille scored two goals in the last 11 minutes to defeat Monaco and keep their Champions League hopes alive.

Romain Alessandrini swept home a Dimitri Payet cross on 87 minutes to lift Marseille to fourth in Ligue 1.

Joao Moutinho put Monaco ahead inside 50 seconds before Andre Ayew levelled with a header 11 minutes from time.

Monaco remain third in the French table, two points clear of Marseille, but a win would have taken them eight points clear of Marcelo Bielsa's side.

St Etienne, who are in fifth with 63 points, are also in contention for third place and Ligue 1's final Champions League qualification spot, with two games in the season remaining.

Lyon's 3-0 defeat at Caen on Saturday means Paris Saint-Germain are just one victory away from securing a third successive league title.
