Inverness CT 3-0 Dundee United
Inverness CT dealt Dundee United's hopes of qualifying for Europe a hammer blow in a goal-laden second half.
Aaron Dorans should have broke the deadlock for Inverness when John Souttar made a hash of a clearance.
Nadir Ciftci forced a fine save from Inverness goalkeeper Ryan Esson, but the home side took the lead through Josh Meekings' header.
Ciftci volleyed over, but Nick Ross smashed in a second for the hosts before Gary Warren made it three.
Beach balls and sombreros were in evidence as Inverness Fans celebrated their qualification for European football for the first time ever.
They were up against a club with a rich Euro pedigree, but in this showing there was only ever one winner.
And Jackie McNamara's dreams of leading the Tannadice side back into Europe now relies on St Johnstone losing to Aberdeen next week, and United winning the city derby against Dundee.
The game had been fairly shy of chances in the opening half hour, but Inverness created the first one as the 30 minute mark arrived when Graeme Shinnie swept a low shot just wide of United goalkeeper Radoslaw Cierznak's near post after a neat through ball from Ross Draper.
Then Doran sclaffed wide from 12 yards, failing to connect with a sweeping cross from the right with only the goalkeeper to beat.
Minutes later, United's Charlie Telfer had a low shot well saved by the outrushing Esson after Robbie Muirhead had put him clear after slack defensive work from Caley.
John Rankin then took a Chris Erskine pass in his stride and from 14 yards blasted the ball at Esson, who blocked the shot with his chest.
Straight into the restart Ciftci forced a fine one-handed save from Esson, but it was the home side who struck to score the opener with Meekings header from Warren's knock back across goal to him.
United striker Muirhead attempted a diving save at the goal which earned him a booking, but not a red card, since the ball had already crossed the line when he handled it.
And, Ross made it 2-0 after poor defending from the visitors allowed him time aplenty to stab home from 12 yards.
Two minutes later Warren rose highest to power home a header from a corner kick for the third for Inverness, as United succumbed to the onslaught.
