Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal says they can say "goodbye to the league" after slipping four points behind Barcelona with two games left.
Carvajal said: "At home we couldn't slip up, we've done that and we say goodbye to the league.
"It's painful because we wanted to fight until the final day, although we'll keep on doing that."
Barca only need to beat either Atletico Madrid or Deportivo La Coruna to win the league, subject to the suspension on Spanish football being lifted.
Real boss Carlo Ancelotti says the Champions League semi-finalists will keep battling for the domestic title.
"We have two games remaining and have to try and win both," the Italian said. "We'll keep going, but it is evident that things are more difficult now.
"We are disappointed with the result, but we have a lot of confidence with how we played. They gave everything they could."
Real Madrid's next game is their Champions League semi-final second leg against Juventus on Wednesday as they bid to overturn a 2-1 first-leg defeat.
