Torquay United goalkeeper Dan Lavercombe has been handed a week-long trial by Premier League club Liverpool.
The 19-year-old only agreed to sign a professional contract with the Gulls last month and played the last five games of the Conference season.
He kept three clean sheets and impressed manager Chris Hargreaves.
"Liverpool have had him watched and like him, and they have asked us if they can have a closer look at him," Hargreaves told the club website.
"We're not talking about a permanent move for Dan, at least not yet."
Lavercombe has moved into Torquay's first-team squad since Jordan Seabright quit to become a car salesman in March.
"The worst that can happen is that Dan gets more good experience, a bit of Liverpool rubs off on him and he comes back to us the better for it," added Hargreaves.
"It's a win-win situation for us."
