Lincoln City have signed Liam Hearn on a one-year deal following the striker's decision to reject a new offer to stay with League Two side Mansfield Town.

Hearn joined the Stags in June 2014 after a trial, but only played twice before suffering a serious knee injury.

The 29-year-old recovered to make further appearances last month.

"He comes with a clean bill of health as shown by the offer of a new deal at Mansfield," Imps manager Chris Moyses told the club website.external-link

"His injury problems are behind him now. Liam is a quality player and quality signing. To be able to bring him to Sincil Bank is a real coup."

Hearn told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I leave with a heavy heart because I have just bought a house there, but the offer I received meant I would have struggled financially.

"But I had an offer where I can be comfortable and I can focus on my football."

Hearn becomes the third Mansfield player to sign for Lincoln for 2015/16, following Lee Beeversexternal-link and Matt Rhead, while the Stags have also lost Ritchie Sutton after he chose to turn down a new contract.external-link
