York City have appointed John Schofield as their assistant manager.
The 50-year-old former Lincoln City boss worked as assistant to Minstermen manager Russ Wilcox's when the pair were at Scunthorpe.
He replaces Steve Torpey who left the League Two side last week.
Schofield said: "It is a lovely family club and one thing which really struck me when I met the chairman and the other board members was their enthusiasm to take it forward."
