Relegated Tranmere Rovers have added to their squad by signing Halifax Town midfielder Lois Maynard and former Fleetwood Town defender Liam Hogan.

Maynard was out of contract at Conference side Halifax and has signed a two-year deal with Rovers.

The 26-year-old was named the Shaymen's player of the year this season, having scored 12 goals in 39 appearances.

Hogan, also 26, has penned a one-year contract following his release by League One club Fleetwood.

He made six appearances for the Cod Army this season, but his last appearance for Graham Alexander's team came in September.

"Liam is a versatile defender who has good experience of this division and those above," Tranmere manager Gary Brabin told the club's website.external-link

"Lois is a high-energy attacking midfielder who can score goals from midfield and also offers us a physical presence.

"They are both winners and leaders and I'm delighted that they have decided to join the club."
