Dean Lewington: MK Dons captain signs new contract
MK Dons captain Dean Lewington has signed a new two-year deal after the club's promotion to the Championship.
The 31-year-old left-back played in MK Dons' first ever competitive fixture in 2004, a 1-1 draw against Barnsley, and has gone on to make a total of 549 appearances for the club.
Last season, he played 41 league games as he skippered MK Dons to promotion to the second tier for the first time.
"I'm extremely happy to be staying," he told the club website.
"I've always loved it here and always been really happy. It's been a great partnership.
"There's a lot of big teams and a lot of top-class grounds (in the Championship) - we are all very excited about next season."
