MK Dons: Antony Kay signs new one-year contract

MK Dons defender Antony Kay has signed a new one-year contract with the club.

Kay, who played in all but one of last season's league matches, told the club websiteexternal-link he was "very happy" to accept the deal, which runs until June 2016.

"This season coming will be my fourth here, which is the second-longest spell I've had with a club," said the former Barnsley and Huddersfield player

"The chairman and the gaffer knew that I wanted to stop here and thankfully they wanted to keep me too."

MK Dons gained automatic promotion to the Championship last season after finishing second in League One.

"Last season was very special, getting promoted in the way that we did, and I'm excited to get started again. I enjoyed the celebrations but the hard work starts now," the 32-year-old said.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Charlie Burns, 20, has also signed a new one-year deal with the club.

The academy product, who had a loan spell with Truro City in 2014-15, has made just one senior appearance for the Dons.
