England C international goalkeeper Andy Coughlin has signed for Southport after turning down the offer of a new deal with National League rivals Wrexham.
Coughlin, 22, made 66 appearances for Wrexham and played in the FA Trophy final defeat by North Ferriby in March.
"Andy will give us stability in goal, something we did not have last season," boss Paul Carden told the club website.
"He is an ambitious player. To get this key signing completed is massive to me," he added.
Coughlin played for the England C team in their 2-1 win against the Republic of Ireland at the beginning of the month.
The former Tranmere Rovers player was told by new Wrexham manager Gary Mills that the recently-signed Cameron Belford would be his number one choice.
