Adam Yates: Port Vale defender signs new one-year contract
Port Vale have signed up defender Adam Yates on a new one-year contract.
The 32-year-old former Crewe Alexandra trainee, who first joined in 2009 from Morecambe, has agreed a deal on reduced terms to remain with financially-challenged Vale for a seventh season.
The boyhood Vale supporter follows the lead of striker Louis Dodds, who signed a similar deal last week.
"He has a real connection with the club which is always important," said Vale manager Rob Page.
"The club is delighted to have secured Adam's services for the new season. He's an experienced and reliable member of the squad."
Full-back Yates has made 234 appearances, and scored five goals, since being signed by Micky Adams in June 2009, during his first stint as Vale boss.
