Mansfield Town have named ex-defender Mark Peters head of academy coaching.

Peters, who played for the Stags for nearly five years from September 1994, will work alongside academy boss John Dempster in the new youth set-up.

Mansfield have just been granted the Elite Player Performance Plan licence at category four level.

Peters, 42, said: "My role will be delivering the coaching [and taking] the philosophy of the club from the first team to the under-nines."
