Sylvain Distin: Bournemouth agree deal for ex-Everton defender

Newly promoted Bournemouth have agreed a deal in principle to sign central defender Sylvain Distin.
Distin left Everton when his contract expired at the end of the season.
The 37-year-old Frenchman is yet to have a medical but it is not thought it will prevent the deal progressing.
If he does sign, Bournemouth will become Distin's fifth Premier League club after spells with Newcastle, Manchester City, Portsmouth - where he won the FA Cup in 2008 - and Everton.
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has already been active in preparation for the Cherries' debut campaign in the top flight.
Goalkeeping duo Artur Boruc and Adam Federici have signed from Southampton and Reading respectively, while striker Josh King has joined on a free transfer from Blackburn.
In addition, Ghana winger Christian Atsu has agreed a season-long loan from Chelsea.
