Sheffield Wednesday have signed FC Twente defender Darryl Lachman for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old has agreed a two-year deal with the Championship side.
The former Ajax player has won four caps for Curacao, who are managed by ex-Netherlands and Barcelona striker Patrick Kluivert.
"I had to look for something else and I was excited when I saw Sheffield Wednesday were interested in me," he told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"It will be a new challenge for me and I don't know what to expect but I think that the level will be higher than in Holland.
"It is important for me to sign for a club with ambition and I want to help the club reach the Premier League."
