Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey has added Steve Gallen to his first-team coaching staff.

The 41-year-old, who has worked in the west London club's academy since 1997, has been appointed as first-team coach.

"Steve understands the fabric of the club and what we are trying to do here," director of football Les Ferdinand told the club website.external-link

"The fact he's worked with a number of our younger players, who we are keen to see progress, is a bonus."

Gallen's previous role, with QPR's development squad, will be taken over by Paul Hall.

Meanwhile Kevin Hitchcock has left his role as goalkeeping coach at Loftus Road after turning down a new contract offer.
