Inter Milan have signed Brazil international defender Miranda from Atletico Madrid.
The 30-year-old helped Atletico win the 2013-14 La Liga title and reach the 2014 Champions League final during four years in Spain.
"Miranda is another great addition to Roberto Mancini's squad for our new Inter," said the Italian club's president Erick Thohir.
"He is as eager as we are to get started on our new adventure."
Neither club disclosed the size of the fee involved but Spanish media reported the deal was worth up to £10.6m.
Inter Milan, 18-time champions of Italy, finished eighth in Serie A last season.
Miranda was in the Brazil squad at the Copa America currently being played in Chile.
