Former Wolves defender George Elokobi has returned to League One side Colchester United on a two-year deal.
The 29-year-old played for the U's between 2004 and 2008, before joining Wolves, whom he helped achieve promotion to the Premier League.
He was a free agent following his release by Oldham, having made 24 league appearances last season.
Elokobi is the U's third defensive signing this summer, following Matthew Briggs and Richard Brindley.
"It is a massively different club, with much better facilities, and from when the manager told me he wanted me to come and sign it was a no-brainer for myself," Elokobi told the club website.
