Brian Barry-Murphy: Rochdale player-coach signs new deal

Barry-Murphy took up a coaching role with Rochdale in 2013

Rochdale player-coach Brian Barry-Murphy has signed a one-year contract extension with the League One club.

The 36-year-old midfielder has made 65 appearances since joining the Dale in 2010, but did not feature last season.

"He's in a very, very good place physically and he understands the game mentally," manager Keith Hill told the club website.

"He's a good sounding board for a lot of the players and he's a great player-coach to have in the squad."
