Manchester City Women midfielder Natasha Harding will have an ankle scan this week after picking up an injury in Sunday's 1-0 win over Birmingham.
The Wales international hobbled off the pitch after only 10 minutes following a tackle by Kerys Harrop.
She was later seen leaving the Academy Stadium in a compression boot.
"The medical team put her in a boot straight away for precautionary reasons because it's swelled quite a lot," City manager Nick Cushing told BBC Sport.
"We'll have to wait until the end of the week to get the real diagnosis but if we can get her back as quick as possible, we will.
"She'll probably go for a scan as soon as we can get her in and hopefully the medical department can feed back on that."
