Former Hartlepool, Norwich and Hibernian defender Michael Nelson has joined Barnet on a one-year deal.
The 35-year-old has been training with the League Two club during pre-season after being released by Cambridge at the end the last campaign.
Nelson was part of the U's team who held Manchester United to a 0-0 draw in the FA Cup in January.
"I've made over 600 appearances at this level so I know what the league is about," Nelson told the club website.
"Hopefully I can bring a little bit of that experience.
"It has been nice being down here from the start of pre-season with the boys, they have made me very welcome and I have settled in quite well."
