Jabo Ibehre scored twice as League Two Carlisle beat Chesterfield in extra time in the League Cup first round.
The striker headed home with 15 minutes remaining, but Emmanuel Dieseruvwe levelled for the League One visitors.
Substitute Dieseruvwe was sent off seconds into extra time for an elbow before Ibehre put the Cumbrians ahead with a right-footed effort.
As Chesterfield pushed for an equaliser to send the tie to penalties, Kevin Osei sealed the tie in injury time.
